The Making of a Rainmaker
Everyone has weaknesses. But as Athena's story demonstrates, they don't need to stop you from succeeding. Athena had a severe reading disability and dyslexia. Yet with help from a writing coach, she's written a book about the story of her success!
Athena’s passion is helping people, particularly those in the Sales Profession, grow into their highest potential. An entire industry has built up around selling books and other materials to the struggling Sales Professional, and much of it is extremely valuable. A key missing ingredient in many, however, is authenticity. Athena brings brutal transparency to the sharing of her experience, both in success and failure, lending a credibility to her story that compels the reader to action.
As with any good story, we see a little bit of ourselves in the hero. The wonderful thing about Athena’s story is that those of us deep in the trenches of selling see ourselves in every struggle, pain, and victory she shares. Every Sales Professional is the hero of this book. There’s no holding back. There’s no pontificating or lecturing. There’s only the sharing of struggles, wisdom, admission of shortcomings, and unrelenting personal growth of a woman striving with all her energy to become the woman God has made her to be. In that story, we become inspired to do the same, because we, the sales people and engines of the world’s economic growth, have that same unlimited potential inside all of us.
Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
- Martin Luther King Jr.
